# Track training progress and inspect simulation choices

Start with an answerable question, then choose a metric. Completion rates, play counts and qualification measure different things.

## Find the training or simulation to examine

1. Use an account with analytics viewing permission and open Behavioral Analytics from the product menu.
2. For the whole training course, first check the journey name and version in journey progress, then review assignments and completions.
3. For choices inside a simulation, use the search at the top of the overview and select its cover in Simulations. The practice below covers the flow chart and node panel in that detail page.

#### Establish scope and denominators

1. Identify the journey version or simulation in Behavior analytics, establish the data scope and then read assignment, completion, session and duration metrics. Multiple attempts by one person are not multiple learners.

**Why this matters**Percentages with different versions, audiences or denominators are not directly comparable.

**Check the result**You can explain whether a figure counts people, sessions or assigned requirements.

Not the expected result?

For absent data, check scope and recorded activity instead of treating it as a zero score.

## Practice filtering records and inspecting choices

1. Select the “Example: customer return response” card below to open its analytics detail.
2. Expand the example to inspect the flow chart and node panel; narrow screens stack them vertically.
3. Select “Full Workflow” to see seven nodes, then “Simplified” to return to the four retained nodes.
4. Select “Respond to the return request”. The panel shows that node’s choices and distribution. Select a target node in the panel to update both the chart selection and panel.
5. Drag the empty chart area to pan; use + and − to zoom and ↺ to fit the graph. Use “Focus” in the panel to center its node.
6. Select “Custom”, set the start to 2026-09-20 and the end to 2026-09-21, then select OK. Two example records remain and the choice and ending counts change together. Select “All Time” to restore all six.

Why are there no records after filtering?

This example only contains the fixed dates above. If a recent-days preset contains no records, select all time or use the example dates. In the real page, check the content, version, period and whether play sessions exist. No data does not mean everyone failed.

## Connect the observation to your next task

Node visits and ending distributions describe activity within a simulation, not the completion roster for the whole training course. Return to journey progress to contact unfinished learners. To revise content, first note the node, choice and period you examined. A node’s Visits count each submission: a multiple-choice submission with several options selected still counts as one visit.
