# Explore styles and previews before generating full asset packages

Use the confirmed customer-service plan to prepare its characters and service counter. Choose compatible previews, confirm the selection, then inspect the resulting assets before continuing.

<a id="asset-workflow"></a>

## Prepare assets from the plan, then preview and confirm them

Assets include characters, scenes and at least one background music track; flow validation checks that background music is played. Compare previews and confirm a style, then review the final assets in the resource sidebar and edit or upload your own files when needed. The top of the resource sidebar also has a Panels section for machine panels (see Machine panels below).

01

### Receive asset requirements & style guidance

1. Select Assets at the top of the customer-service project.
2. At Use this plan?, check the name of this project’s current plan and select Use this plan.
3. For an already selected plan, use View to check its content, then select Generate assets.

<a id="doc2sim-assets-step1"></a>

#### Review the asset needs and style

1. In Assets, specify a shared direction, for example “Use a matching realistic style for the agent and customer, with a service-counter scene.” Check that the previews include the characters and scene you need; do not adopt an unnecessary asset just because it was generated.

**Why this matters**Establishing a common direction reduces rework and inconsistencies.

**Check the result**Representative characters and scenes fit the workplace and are not misleading.

Not the expected result?

Describe concrete differences from the intended setting rather than asking only for a better-looking image.

02

### Dispatch style exploration & preview generation

1. Wait for previews.
2. For the service case, find the agent, customer and service counter and check that they fit the plan.
3. Wait while an item is generating. When an item fails, its row shows the reason, Report error and a ↻ icon (tooltip: Retry); read the reason before pressing ↻.
4. If the panel says generation finished without selectable previews, there is nothing to choose yet and the style cannot be confirmed; review the failure details or retry.

03

### Compare style variants & lock style

1. Choose one image in each preview group so the agent, customer and counter use a compatible style.
2. If items are still pending, choose them and press Confirm selection.
3. After confirmation the panel says the style is confirmed and that changes are made in the right panel; to change the style later, press 🔄 on the asset card in the resource sidebar.
4. Final assets still need to finish generating after the style is confirmed.

04

### Review assets and reselect or replace them when needed

1. Press the 🖼️ View Output icon in the header to open the resource sidebar. Preview the agent, customer and counter for consistency, and listen to the background music.
2. Asset-card buttons are icons with tooltips: 🔄 reselect style, ✏️ edit image, ⬇ download image, ⬆ replace shared asset (updates every place that uses it), 🗑 delete image (only on candidate images; press again to confirm).
3. Card badges show the version: current, candidate, saved version, or selected candidate not yet built. A saved version can be restored with Use this version for shared asset; uploading a new file keeps saved versions.
4. Upload your own images or audio with ⬆ on the asset card in the resource sidebar. Machine panels are not replaced from asset cards; use the Panels section of the sidebar.
5. When everything fits the plan, choose Workflow at the top.

<a id="doc2sim-assets-step2"></a>

#### Review each asset and replace unsuitable ones

1. Press the 🖼️ View Output icon to open the resource sidebar, preview characters and backgrounds and listen to the background music. Continue to Workflow when they meet the plan.
2. Use ⬆ Replace shared asset on an asset card only when you need your own file; it updates every use of that shared asset, so check the asset and its uses first.
3. Preview affected scenes after replacing it, rather than checking only that the upload succeeded.

**Why this matters**Attractive output does not guarantee correct text, logos or identity consistency. These need review.

**Check the result**Each required asset has a clear purpose in the plan, with no known missing item.

Not the expected result?

Recheck affected scenes after reselecting or replacing an asset.

05

### Fine-tune with ✏️ Modify image

1. Press ✏️ Modify image on an asset card. The composer shows an Modify Asset label and asks you to describe the change.
2. Describe what to keep and what to change, then send. Compare the new and old images afterwards; the character is not guaranteed to stay identical.

<a id="doc2sim-assets-step3"></a>

#### Request verifiable edits with ✏️ Modify image

1. For a new expression, press ✏️ Modify image on the asset card and request a specific change, such as keeping the uniform and hair while changing the expression. Compare the result before accepting it.

**Why this matters**A reference helps consistency but does not guarantee identical results.

**Check the result**The character remains recognizable, the edit matches the request, and scenes use the reviewed asset.

Not the expected result?

Revise inconsistent output or use an approved asset rather than publishing it unchecked.

## Machine panels

A panel is a photo of a real control panel with each control outlined on it. Panels are not generated; you upload them. This section covers uploading and editing only.

1. ### Open the panel editor

   1. In Assets, press the 🖼️ View Output icon; the Panels section is at the top of the resource sidebar. Press New panel.
   2. When a flow declares a panel that has not been uploaded, an Upload panel {id} button appears next to the validation, build or publish error; opened from there, the panel id is prefilled and locked.
   3. Each listed panel shows a status: Ready, Missing photo, Missing control file, Not uploaded or Invalid control file. Panels referenced by the flow carry a Used by the Workflow badge. Press Upload or Edit to open the editor.
   4. Open a conversation first; otherwise the editor asks you to open one before uploading.
2. ### Enter the id and choose a photo

   1. Fill in the panel id (the flow refers to the panel by it) and the display name.
   2. Press Choose photo and pick a front-facing PNG, JPEG or WebP photo of the panel; use Replace photo to change it.
3. ### Outline each control

   1. Click on the photo to add vertices. After at least 3, click the first vertex, press Enter or press Close outline. Press Esc or Cancel outline to discard the outline in progress.
   2. Drag a vertex to move it; double-click it to delete it.
   3. For each control enter an Id and Name and choose a Kind: button, switch, knob, lamp, display or other.
   4. Undo (or Ctrl/Cmd+Z) reverts the last step. If you already have a control file, use Import controls JSON (machine\_panel/v1 and panel-hotspots/v1).
4. ### Upload after the checks pass

   1. The editor footer shows the first unresolved issue, for example: the panel id must start with a letter or \_ and use only letters, digits and \_; at least one control must be outlined; outlines must be closed; every control needs a name and kind.
   2. Upload panel stays disabled until every issue is resolved. Uploading replaces the photo and control file already stored for that panel.

## Optional production evidence

This screenshot is retained as supporting evidence only; the workflow above is rendered from the shared Doc2Sim components.

![The Doc2Sim Assets workspace for reviewing generated resource variants.](https://speedl.ai/assets/images/docs/doc2sim-asset-clean.png)

The real Asset workspace: generate style previews from the plan or conversation prompts, and lock a style to produce production assets.

<a id="asset-capabilities"></a>

## Check the assets before continuing

When the agent, customer, service counter and background music can all be previewed and match the confirmed plan, choose Workflow at the top of the project.

### Style exploration & diverse variants

Without a requested style, previews use clearly different art styles (for example anime, realistic and pixel) for comparison; you can also request a style in the chat.

### Full asset consistency

Characters, scenes and background music are prepared from the plan. Background music is required and flow validation checks that it is played; machine panels are not generated and must be uploaded.

### ✏️ Modify image

Press ✏️ on an asset card to bring the asset into the chat and describe what to keep and change. Compare appearance and expression before using the result.

### Flexible editing & custom uploads

Upload your own files with ⬆ on an asset card: images png, jpg, jpeg, webp, gif; audio mp3, wav, ogg, m4a, aac, flac. Check the result in the simulation after replacing.
