# Doc2Sim: Build an interactive simulation from documents

Doc2Sim turns training material and goals into an interactive experience that people can practice.

## Start here: create a Doc2Sim project

Create a project named Return request: first response practice and open its authoring workspace. Sign in to the organization where you want to create the material.

**This guide is for:**Owner Admin Creator [Start a project](https://speedl.ai/creator)

1. 1**Open the creation entry**

Select Start a project, then Create New Project on the creation page.
2. 2**Name and open the project**

Enter Return request: first response practice in Project Name, then select Create & Start.
3. 3**Enter the authoring workspace**

When the Doc2Sim workspace opens, start in Plan to describe the learners and training goal. Continue with the planning guide below.

Cannot create or open the project?

Creation entry missing: check that you are signed in to the intended organization and have authoring access.

Cannot create: check that the project name is not blank.

Workspace did not open: return to the project list and open the project already created. If a new tab is blocked, the workspace may open in the current tab.

## Find and continue an existing project

1. In the Simulation Studio, open “My Projects” and enter a project name, description or text from its plan in “Search project names and content”.
2. Filter by “All”, “Draft” or “Published”, and sort by “Recently updated” or “Name”. Clear the search and filters if the project is missing.
3. If a card offers “View plan”, read the plan and its approval status to check that you have the right project.
4. Select “Develop” to enter the same project. If the card asks you to request editing access, follow the next section.

## Request editing access or share with a colleague

Owners, admins and creators have authoring roles. Editing a particular project also requires access to that project; seeing its card does not mean you can open its authoring workspace.

1. With preview access only, select “Request edit access” on the card. Once it shows “Edit access requested”, wait for the project creator or a manager whose role outranks the creator to grant access.
2. Someone who can grant access can select “Allow editing” on the card, or use the “Share” icon, search by name or email, choose a colleague and select “Share”.
3. After access is granted, reload the project list and select “Develop”.

Sharing grants editing access to an existing member of the same organization with an authoring role. It does not publish the content publicly or give the recipient permission to share it onward. If sharing shows “This member cannot currently edit projects.”, the recipient does not currently meet the sharing conditions; ask an organization owner or admin to check their member role.

## Change the project name, game description and cover

1. On a project you can edit, select the pencil icon, “Edit game information”.
2. Change “Project name” or “Game description”, then select “Save”.
3. When the dialog closes, check the card. If an error appears, follow its message before saving again.

Saving updates the name and description of this project and its published versions without rebuilding or publishing a new version. Changes to the interactive content still require editing the project and completing publication.

In the same dialog, use “Replace cover” to choose a new JPG, PNG or WebP cover (up to 5 MB); it is uploaded when you select “Save”. The project card and game library show the new cover. An already published game keeps the icon inside the game until a new version is built and published.

## The path from idea to simulation

Continue in the same project: confirm the plan, prepare assets and the interactive flow, assemble and play through the simulation, then publish. Each link explains the actions and completion checks for that stage.

## The real completion point

After publishing the material, open the published version to check the learner experience. To use it in a training journey, add a simulation stage, select this published material, set the clear rule, and publish the journey. Publishing the material and publishing the journey are separate steps.
